When your partner is contagiously ill

WhiteLightWhiteCity [Edit] [Delete] 09:49, 9 February '12

how do you respond? I never used to get sick at all when I was younger, so even when she was coughing and spluttering all over the place I'd quite happily pay no attention to the risk and never catch anything.

A couple of months ago however, I absolutely caught her snotty cold. Combined with some other illnesses in the last year or so (I'm sadly not 19 anymore) and a small part of me is silently wary as she now has winter vomiting bug. I'm washing my hands every 20 minutes. Kind of reminds me of when I made a trip home to my parents' house a couple of years ago and my grandparents cancelled their visit to see me when they heard I was feeling a little sick (though at their age I suppose small colds could really knock them over). My work colleague just told me she banishes her husband to the other room of the house when he's ill - seems a little harsh.

Anyway, do you walk round the house with a facemask on when your partner's chucking or do you happily share germ zones?
