Who's been? I'm thinking of going.

Specifically I'd like to know:

What's it like compared to other south-eastern Asian countries in terms of price / less or more touristy / etc? I ask this because I'm not terribly keen on "doing Thailand" quite yet but I'm open to other places in the region. I've been to the Philippines twice when I was younger so that's not really an option. Obviously I know the touristy thing depends on when and where you go, but we're looking at a 3 week holiday in September.

Where did you go and how did you get about?

Did you do a PADI course? (and was it good?)
