Best places to meet people when you are young

Donnie [Edit] [Delete] 21:59, 1 February '12

I'm aware this is all abit 'indie bedwetter', but when you need indie bedwetter advice, you come to DiS.

Where do you meet people once you've left university? I'm 21 and work full time now, and my options seem fairly limited - you've always a chance to meet new people at university but now I'm back in a fairly small town and don't have as much free time, I'm starting to wonder when and where this alien process occurs. I'm talking mainly about romantic interests - I'm fairly recently single and would like to find a young lady to watch films with - but some new friends would be nice too since alot of mine have moved away.

My workmates are lovely, and I do have a small circle of friends left in the town with me but I'd love to meet some more people. I don't enjoy nightclubs (and I doubt nightclubbers would enjoy me), and my only 'hobby', going to the football, I do alone. I've even considered Internet dating but that doesn't seem to to be populated by anyone under 25. I might have to start going to gigs on my own again and trying to chat up some lonely Bon Iver honeys. That's you, DiS!

Any advice?
