When work comes all at once

chris_is_cool [Edit] [Delete] 12:19, 31 January '12

Ooooooh I'm shuddering with excitement. Honestly. I've been waiting for it to all just build up and explode all over me like something grotesquely sexual.

I've now got enough research and reading done to be able to crack on with about 3,000 more words of the dissertation, 2000 words on 'the other' from plays by Philip Massinger and 2000 words on reflection of the role of morality and capacity for moral redemption following 9/11.

But my question to you is how do you manage to successfully immerse yourself into it? Personally I just have willpower and i'm not a lazy person, but I do have a couple of rituals which let me focus...boom.

Firstly, I look at all social media I use for 5-10 minutes and kind of 'mentally sign off' from it so it wont serve as a distraction in my head, then I make a green tea and boom off you go.

Do you need to be in a library/at home? I stay at home, I find it easier to work.

I'm on my lunch now, anticipating the stream of warm squidgy work that awaits me.
