why a tie (and jacket)? - because it indicates subserviance to a concept of ,maintaining the status quo? Because it is meant to indicate something about your job and what you do?

To me it has always represented a dog lead, for doggies that are expected to jump through arbitary hoops, Obviously I have had to wear the symbolic dog lead and jumpt through irrelevant hoops, because i am bidden to, I am ashamed that I am not my own man but am the systems beyatch.

Thus in my spare time I would not wear a tie conventionally.
