so my housemate cycles everywhere. fair enough. but whenever she leaves the house, she knocks on my door and asks me if I can let her out. So I have to stop what I'm doing, go outside my room and stand about in the hall while she gets her bike out the door, puts on her helmet etc. then I have to close the door behind her. (why can't she do that??). sometimes if I'm leaving the house, one of them will say "I'll let you out" and offer to close the door for me (why is this necessary???)
