Anybody done this? I really need some volunteer experience and something like this would allow me to do so full time, but I'm not entirely convinced that outdoorsy physical work is for me and don't particularly want to pay £20 just to have some questions answered.

So a long shot, but! If anyone here has done this or know anyone who has, would you say it's relatively easy to find a placement? Does it generally involve rising at the crack of dawn? Is it a viable option even in a UK autumn/winter?
