Yo, i'm applying for my PGCE at the mo, i need two referees, the first has to academic which is fine as my dissertation tutor has agreed to do it. The second one has to be a 'character' reference who they most likely wont even contact. The criteria is that they cant be friends/family etc. but have to know you personally. I take that to mean employers etc. My only job was in McDonalds when i was at college like 4 years ago so i cant really use anyone from there(i was also a lazy sulking shit when i worked there).
My question is, there must be a few teacher lurking around here, who did you use for yours?
