There was this laboured bullshit article, apparently tied in with a module of some new degree, attempting to link the rise in popularity of zombie films with the downturn / [alienation-felt-by-the-common-man] / "we're all like...zombies to capitalism" sentiment that's growing in these austere times.

He basically interviewed some sort of film studies academic who espoused this theory of a link between the two, then went out on the street for vox pops where everyone was basically like "Nah mate".
