Among the many people I spent time with yesterday, one stood out. I got into a chat with a bloke, in his sixties, in a suit and woolly hat, who stopped me as I was leaving when he saw my notebook.

HIM: Oh, you're one of them.
ME: I'm sorry?
H: Media. You wouldn't be here if you knew the truth. This is all a front. This isn't the real issue.
M: What is the real issue?
H: It's all coming together. First they go for the gypsies. Then the homosexuals. Police brutality is on the rise. Corporations acting like psychopaths. The cuts affecting the most vulnerable.
M: I see, bu-
H: And the BBC are putting the number 666 everywhere.
M: ...
H: You know that lad killed by the polar bear? That was all a set-up.
M: ...
H: So what are you, MI7?

This is massively abridged, and the insanity was proceeding by deceptively lucid left-wing ravings, but basically I've never met someone as actively disturbed as this guy.
