So I dropped the iron on the carpet in my rented room earlier this year and the cheap bastard burned instantly. The landlord now asks me to now pay £300 to replace it, and thats way too high isn't it? For a stupid tiny room probably to be recarpeted with the same cheap carpet. What can I do? If I tell him that the £200 he already has from my deposit is more than enough and I refuse to pay the extra £100, will I get arrested or someting
