What do you reckon footballers do with their wages?

beautiful_balloon [Edit] [Delete] 19:44, 31 August '11

Just reading Guardian's transfer window coverage and noted that Craig Bellamy refused to move from Manchester City for anything less than £95,000 per week

I know footballer's extortionate wages isn't exactly a novel thing to be floored by, but really, what the fuck can it possibly matter to him?

Take like Jack Wilshere for example, I feel that from following him on Twitter and seeing him in interviews I've got a pretty good idea of what he's like, i.e a normal young lad who likes Xbox and watching Sky Movies and designer clothes etc who happens to be exceptional at football

He can't possibly need or even desire all that money right? I assume footballers don't really think of themselves as 'rich', more like money is something they never have to think about and they have an infinite pot of it if need be, like they're playing a computer game and they've got a cheat code.

It probably sounds terribly clichéd but when I think that I make like £350 a week being a teacher it seems pretty crazy, and I wonder why more fans aren't kinda resentful of that?
