Where to live for an OK commute into central London?

AdamB [Edit] [Delete] 12:21, 1 August '11

Thinking about relocating fairly soon to somewhere outside of London - need to save money, and hoping to find somewhere nice-ish to bring up a family.

I've been trying to find somewhere where rent isn't too expensive and travel costs don't completely wipe out savings made on rent.

Have considered Gravesend as houses look dirt cheap, but I understand it's rather a rough part of the world.

Do you commute in from outside of London? Is it alright or does it make you feel like doing a Reggie Perrin?
