I'm talking about in personal emails or texts. Do smileys wind you up, actually serve a purpose? I know that I add them occasionally to try to convey the tone of an otherwise questionable sentiment. But some people use them bloody loads (I'm looking at several people on here) which surely devalues them? WHAT DO YOU THINK?
