if this was a requirement on a job advert:

"Knowledge of content management systems and bulk email software, including (but not limited to): BSD, Advocacy Online, Tangent Labs, Silverpop etc."

...and you had never heard of any of those pieces of software, would you say it was pointless applying? I mean - do you know what they are, and are they the type of thing that someone who was generally technically competent and used to using loads of different standard and bespoke types software could pick up?

I mean I am totally qualified for all the other points on the spec, so... well you catch my drift yeah?
