iTunes HELP (please!)

ghostpony [Edit] [Delete] 18:50, 28 February '11

Hi DiS. Specifically computer geeks of DiS. My iTunes is totally broken. Here's the score:

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling it.
I've tried taking all my music off my laptop and then loading it on again.
I've run the chkdsk utility.

Basically, when I click on my iTunes icon, I get a message that says "The iTunes Library.itl file is locked, on a locked disk, or you do not have write permission for this file." When I googled that, it said to change the file settings so that it's not read-only. Except, when I went to do this, I got a message saying that the itunes library.itl is corrupt and unreadable.

WHAT DO I DO??? :'( How do I uncorrupt the itunes library.itl file? I can't even delete it, because I get the error that it's a locked disk.

Can you help me DiS? I am in so much despair that if you can help me fix it, I'll send you a gift.

Thanks.
