Going to the Gym – motivation centric

Kitchmo [Edit] [Delete] 14:33, 24 February '11

Recently, I made a list of things I really wanted to do this year, and one of them was to return to the weight I was at the start of uni. This is going to be difficult, as 1. I’m now quite obese and 2. I’m very lazy. I used to be very slim and reasonably toned, but now I’m made of pies and ice cream, so I really want to do something about it.

So my question to people who go to the gym is; how do you motivate yourself? I’m too short sighted to care about the long term health issues, and as for attracting ladies and looking good, I now live with my g/f who is enjoying the pies and ice cream just as much as me, I’m also not particularly vain (I mean look at my hair). I know in my mind I want to do it, but it’s the day to day motivation I lack.

Pound me with your motivational wisdom DiS, until I’m sweaty and exhausted.

Will insults and joke answers outnumber serious suggestions? Nah there will be zero replies.

(Shamelessly inspired by Verbal’s thread.)
