Egypt: A vindication for liberal interventionism?

Smee [Edit] [Delete] 12:11, 21 February '11

To summarise this guy reckons that the wave of "revolutions" sweeping the middle east represents the fruition of the the Blair/Bush agenda, especially in Iraq.

He basically gives Blair credit for the end of Mubarak's regime and says that he has been vindicated in his belief that the removal of Saddam would be a beacon to democratic movements across the region.

Personally I think that it's a bit early to be rejoicing. There's a very real danger that Islamic extremists will fill any vacuum's created by these events, even if they aren't the driving force behind them. Look at Iran in 1979.

What do you think?
