My gf is looking into a VSO (voluntary service overseas) placement in Guyana and I'm trying to find some anecdontal information on what the place is like to live there. Stuff such as living costs, actual culture, what the people are like, etc.

If anyone on here can provide any such information I'd be very grateful.

I'll be looking elsewhere on tinterwebs, but I thought I'd ask all you helpful and lovely people as well, seeing as I'm likely to be on and off this site as per normal business day activities anyway.
