I raised this in the Egypt thread, but I think it's a decent topic of its own.

Watching Al Jazeera English has made me acutely aware, even more so than usual, of the dross that passes for debate on western television. Watching old episodes of Firing Line is genuinely revelatory - try it, if you haven't already. Wouldn't it be just brilliant if someone launched something like that again? No idea who could host it though.

I just want some pretentious telly every now and again. Is that too much to ask?
