When a translator in a documentary has to translate a child’s account during an interview or while they are speaking and puts on a childlike voice instead of just speaking/translating it in their natural, adult voice.

I used to live with a woman (aged 24ish?) who had a childlike voice.
BT once called up, she answered, and BT wouldn’t speak to her because they thought she was a child and they wanted to speak ‘to her parents’.
