this is the first film of his that i've seen, so i can't really put it in context...

but i dunno....there was some brilliant moments, but overall, i was pretty unmoved. and the final scene really annoyed me...it felt so glib and simplistic. i don't think the tone is right, either. when the film gains weight, it starts to get rushed along and it feels like there's no time to absorb any of the characters actions. and by the end, i'm not sure it really says anything much at all.
