FAO:Piano players (I'm sure there's a few)

chris_is_cool [Edit] [Delete] 21:24, 19 January '11

I'm thinking of taking up piano again. I played for roughly 8 years from the age of 5 and got pretty good, but then military school turned my interests to other things and I dropped it......pretty angry at that decission when I think about it.

Anywho, I'm thinking of taking it up again....my sight reading is pretty bad, even though I can obviously read music.

What would be cool (and I'm pretty sure I can do this as I did it once last year) is just pick some tunes that I'd really like to play and just use youtube tutorials and sheet music together and just learn to play them and then memorise. I pretty much used to do that as a kid, learn it then memorise it and I can still play most of them tunes now.

OR should I just get a few lessons and ask if they'll just teach me tunes?

I'm listening to Ludovico Einaudi now and it's just absolutely wonderful.

Talk to me about playing the piano guys.
