One Term President:

Parsefone [Edit] [Delete] 15:33, 19 January '11

Got a "serious" "question" for "you". Sometimes in the blur between your internet persona and the real you you talk about conservatism with a small c, and it's one of the few times you sound genuinely passionate about something. It seems like you really do hold to the ideals of stability, careful change, and the conservation of national institutions.

So tell me- do you actually agree with any of the things the current government is doing? Because many of the changes, even within Cameron's rhetoric, are wild, untested and radical. The recent changes to the NHS, for instance, will have profound and possibly critical effects on a national institution we can pretty much only guess at. The economic policy they are following flies in the face of most accepted economic logic and again, will have profound, radical and unknown effects upon this country, particularly the poorer half. They plan to sell off the trees, I mean seriously, it doesn't get more hunchbacked king chuckling away in a mountain castle than that.

So tell me- do you actually support Cameron and his vision of Conservatism? If so, how do you square it with the traditional ideal of conservatism? If not, who do you look towards in the British political scene for inspiration? Jocular one sentence rejoinders which avoid the question as welcome as a genuine response.
