One of the best films of the 00s IMO. if you haven't seen it i would reccomend it a lot, lovely bits of incidental music from Tindersticks too.

Since I've started this thread, anyone wanna talk about dweeby arthouse movies...I've been watching lots of Hong Sang-Soo recently, and I think as 00s realism goes, he makes an interesting comparison to mumblecore in that while both he and most mumblecore directors are concerned with the relationships of 20 somethings being regailing in painstakingly detailed realism, he got a real fullt-fledged sense of stylisation which, for better or for worse, is something I guess mumblecore avoids. Also, his films are pretty intense and often leave me with a horrible dark feeling in the pit of my stomach, whereas idk, in mumblecore there's often a temporary resolution or people just going 'ah, let's ambivalently get on with it'. Finally, it's interesting that these two different articles about nudity and sex are about the two different things but say similar things...
