I've not seen any landlord-related whinges on here for a while so I thought I'd oblige. How many of you have had bad experiences with them? I only ask because my ex-landlord is currently trying to rip me off to the tune of £400.

Turns out the tenant who moved into my old flat after me has kicked off saying the place was in an 'unliveable' state - which I know for a fact is bollocks because a) I'm generally not a scruff and b) I cleaned it thoroughly before I left - and the scumbag in question has deducted the cost of the repairs from my deposit, right down to replacing the shower curtain. Luckily the letting agent took photographs before the new tenant arrived and appears to have saved my bacon, but I'm still pissed off about it. A bit of Googling has revealed this landlord is actually barred from holding company directorships and has been accused of tax dodging in the past. If only I'd known about this Google six months ago...

tl;dr? Almost certainly. But what dealings have you lot had with dodgy landlords?
