Going to the cinema is just too expensive these days.

hip_young_gunslinger [Edit] [Delete] 11:58, 22 March '10

I went to see Shutter Island at my local Odeon last night, pretty much the only cinema I can get to, and the ticket was £8.

Now, when I can buy a film on DVD only a couple of months after its been out at the cinema for the same price, is there really any reason to spend that money seeing a film I don't even know I'll enjoy? People say you gt an experience with the cinema, but what experience? The chance to buy overpriced popcorn, expensive (and badly mixed) soft drinks, and sit among a bunch of noisy, inconsiderate people?

Basically, I'm just not sure it's worth going to the cinema anymore.
