The other week, they went on holiday and engaged me to come by and feed the rabbit.

So I did, but I also lifted a compendium of Inspector Rebus novels, The Russian Book of Chess, which is half in Spanish for some reason, and one of my mum's boutique luxury Cornettos. The Cornetto was the best ice cream ever.

Sometimes I'll drop by and my mum will steal an item of my dad's clothing for me, like a tie or shirt. I've stopped accepting these though. I keep seeing an image of him in my mind, standing by the wardrobe, bemusedly wondering where his lucky tie has gone...
