funereal dilemma

utm_usic [Edit] [Delete] 11:26, 4 April '07

i have a funeral related dilemma that i need a little bit of help with please! basically, my mum died at the weekend and her funeral is on tuesday. i've been asked to 'say a few words' but i really really don't want to.

firstly, i have enough trouble talking to people face to face, never mind a whole room of people.

secondly, while i've been coping reasonably okay so far, i have a feeling that i'm going to spend all of tuesday blubbering like a little girl. i don't want to be in the limelight when this happens.

has anyone else ever spoken at a funeral? are jokes inappropriate? is it really necessary to have a member of family speaking? i hope not :(
