I recall now the clamour at school to pretend you knew how to play Freakscene or walking around at college with a copy of Green Mind or Where You Been? without even stopping to think that what you really had under your arm or in tablature chords was really the lazy wank half baked shenangans of the classic underacheiver's underacheivers.

Really Dino J as you could call them if you wanted some friends (or just 'Dinosaur' for all you Lou Barlow lookalikes) are bascially the musical version of trying to function normally after sleeping in your clothes for a week under heavy sedation. Yeah, that good. Their repuation is based on one not bad but very teenage song (the aforementioned 'Freak Scene' and very little else), though there was one half decent single in 1994 but even talking about this slackjawed 'mate's band at the Bull & Gate' group just makes me feel as half arsed, hey sorry guys, half ASSED as J.Mascis.

To summarise: half decent, half asleep and not as good as you thought even if Lou Barlow has come back (but probably for the money).
