Ridiculous computer problem

chiaroscuro [Edit] [Delete] 17:55, 30 March '07

About a week or so ago, the very tip of the cable connecting my laptop to my stereo broke off inside the socket. It still works if I plug the rest of it in, but kind of scratchy and only in mono. So I can do this, or listen to music out of the shitty laptop speakers. I'm getting mightily sick of this.

So, any ideas how to extract the errant little bit of metal? I have a new cable, but of course it won't go in the hole. I've tried paper clips, tiny screwdrivers, tweezers, everything. I don't want to have to take the thing apart. Help me!! Help? Does anybody live in London and have very very thin fingers? Like no more than 1.5 mm across? Gaahahahhdsdsa fdssegkrpo589309!!£5346
