t'smoking ban and how it will affect live music. discussion

Jordan_229_2 [Edit] [Delete] 21:57, 21 March '07

okay so in July the smoking ban comes in. what suprises me is that there hasn't been much discussion about how it will affect live music, especially in small venues.

do you think that people will be less to go to gigs for bands they are just curious about knowing they cant have a smoke in the venue and will have to go outside, especially in bad weather?

do you think it will hit support bands (or in rarer occasions headline bands) hard, also in larger venues, as people will be more likely to just want to see one band?

plus what sort of effect will it have on the actual venues? living in Nottingham i can see this having a particular effect on the Old Angel, and also mansfield's Town Mill, as they have really 'smoky' atmospheres and so a lot of people might decide to not go for their usual afternoon pint.

what do you think?
