As you may know, I don't like the show.

I watched the first two I think, and found it embarrassing, and a bad misrepresentation of teenagers etc. etc. Maybe I took it too seriously, or whatever - it doesn't matter. The use of words like 'safe' and 'spliff' coming from these Southern mouths in an unironic manner turns my stomach.

HOWEVER. Last night's episode was absolutely superb. I was stuck to it. Fantastic. It was so odd. Usually, I can't stand the AboutABoyBoy and his horrible face, but in this instance, I was actually rooting for him and his horrible friends.

So yeah. They should keep that writer on. I enjoyed it. It wasn't realistic, as usual, but at the same time, it didn't do its usual crap job of making things like drugs and sex seem TOTALLY COOL.

In short: last night's episode: TOP CLASS TV?
