So I just watched this at the cinema in Leeds. It was very enjoyable, but I also felt somewhat over-rated. It is very much the interesting work of a film maker who will massively refine and improve his style later in his career. It is interesting as a bit of macabre fun and some powerful scenes but does not nearly have the same sort of horror or socio-political comment and psychology that his later films have. I don't understand why it is quite so revered.

I did rather like it though. Well worth seeing.
