Today I went to my first job interview in... 5 years? It was for a library assistant job in the TINY local library. I'd completely forgotten about it until yesterday, and didn't see fit to prepare myself for it at all.

So when the guy asked me 'If I was your best "mate", what would I say is your worst quality?' I was so distracted at the thought of being best "mates" with this man that I didn't answer for a couple of minutes and tried to pretend I was thinking about the question rather than imagining kicking back with a beer and a smoke and talking about shitty pop culture with this old geezer. Eventually I said: 'I daydream a lot', which didn't strike me as the best way to answer such a question. Particularly because I had to ramble on for a while to explain what I meant. But it was probably better than my initial - more honest - answer which would have been: 'I get angry when I'm pissed and throw pans at people'. Even though the answer I gave was less cause for alarm, I still reckon it was a bit too honest. I DO daydream a lot. But should I really tell people that in a job interview?

Basically, what I'm asking is: how do you respond to this kind of question in an interview?
