You know every mac comes with a webcam pre-installed and "iChat"? So if you have a mac, broadband, and an AOL user account you can basically have a fully working streaming videophone. Just got mine working for the first time ever, it was really weird. Awkward but fun, like being in the room but not.

I know webcam technology and video conferencing have been around for ages, but it was so simple to set up it was unbelievable, and it's all built in as standard now. It's all so science fiction. i remember seeing it in star trek when I was kid and just thinking it would happen in hundreds of years and stuff, and her it is! phone boxed will have video cameras in them soon I bet and it'll be the same with mobiles.

The telephone will be consigned to history. (e.g. "remember when phones were audio-only? lol")
