I have about three months to design a small magazine (about twenty pages or so). I have no idea how to use Quark, and I don't have a Mac at home so that is probably out of the question

What is there that is reasonably cheap (I'm a poor student) and easy to use (I'm an idiot)? My design doesn't have to be groundbreaking, as I'm being judged more on the quality of the articles as opposed to what it looks like. But obviously I don't want it to look shit
