are these common? Is it just a school/area thing ?

There are lots of "young teams" in and around glasgow. My "local" ones are the Bowry (boys of whiteinch ruling in every way - doesent even make sense) and HYT. They were getting together to fight each other at seven last night.
Not sure if it happened, but still, pretty ridiculous, eh?
