Strike One For My New iPod

Stealthy [Edit] [Delete] 19:59, 19 February '07

So while browsing the literature for the new gadget that arrived at my desk today, I noted the following piece of advertising bumf: "It might be a miracle. Otherwise, it’s hard to explain exactly how... an 80GB iPod can be the same size as the 60GB model before it. However it happened..."

This might lead some people to believe that Apple used magic to slim down their new iPods. These are the kind of people who buy into the whole Apple cult and when the time comes, they will be first against the wall.

The actual method Apple used to make their device so slim is because they've serruptitiously removed support for Firewire - the same Firewire they introduced specifically to work with the iPod. The same Firewire I spent many days and much blood and tears trying to make work with Windows 98 when I purchased the original incarnation of the iPod.

The same Firewire I used as a justification for never having upgraded my PC to include USB 2.0 support - something I am now regretting as I attempt to port over my 40 or so gigs of tunes over to this new device using USB 1.1.

Apple - Fuck you. Now I know why you use that dipshit from Peep Show as your avatar. Because he's a cunt.
