For those who 'say' I don't like new music

prole-art-threat [Edit] [Delete] 09:49, 2 February '07

I was giving this a thought today as my train hauled itself languidly past the lunar landscapes of East London - people 'say' - "Oh that Prole he doesn't like new music and he's probably bitter or something", but really, the truth about 'new music' - and a fact that is far more relevant, is that 'music' new or old will always be there - it has been created to be listened to at any time in the world, providing Baby Jesus doesn't prematuraly 'call' you* -this is what I love about 'unearthing' old stuff that was has always been there, from before you were born to when you were having your nappy changed, to when you discovered meloncholy and the wonders of solitude - once music is out there, its out there, whether good or bad 'of its time' or just factory radio.

On this basis should I want to, I can 'get into' Jamie T or That Fucking Tank at anytime between now and whenever my heart stops or my soul prefers gardening. THis is the true beauty about being 'into' music surely?

Perhaps saying you like 'new music' is just trying to prove youre not dead yet, an argument that in time will prove erroneous if yourr so transitory you end up putting your records in the loft once you decide to stop being really 'rad' and get married or something.
