why is sewing so difficult? i just spent about two hours sewing two pieces of fabric together, and, not only does it look absolutely awful, it looks as if it's all about to come undone. it's not even a flashy stitch!

i wish i could do fancy stitching. i was going to embroider the track listing for the mix cd on the back of the fabric but at this rate, i'll still be stitching the first track title this time next year.

does anyone have any sewing tips? i think i need some better fabric for a start. i'm using a hideous napkin i found in the cupboard. it's brown with a cream floral pattern. urgh.
