eating "jelly belly" jelly beans is like walking through a minefield

yes_ [Edit] [Delete] 00:44, 3 January '07

I just had my leg blown off.

It looked dark green in the pale moonlight, so I decided to give it a chance. Hesitantly, I placed the jelly bean in my mouth. I started to chew, carefully at first, then with more vigour. Initially , it seemed fine, and all was ok. As I broke through the sugar shell, a rush of triumphant excitement came over me as I thought "this could be the one. This could finally be the one. Thankyou god, i am sorry i ever doubted you"
It was as though I had been pounced upon by a stalking hunter, and suddenly, I realised the true nature of the 'bean. I spat the jellybean across the room, as if it were made of arsenic. It seemed to dangle in mid-air, like it was a bird with a broken wing, before falling to the ground with an almost silent thud, as if to mock my judgement.
My face, previously contorted with disgust, returned to normal as i contemplated what went wrong:

I had eaten a liqourice.

The half chewed remnants now stain the floor, an everlasting reminder of my foolishness.

Discuss.
