'Hidden' political messages in kids entertainment

dove_from_above [Edit] [Delete] 13:34, 12 December '06

Anybody read that thing in the Guardian today about Happy Feet? Aside from the fact that it wasn't a particularly well written article, it got me interested nonetheless*. I've always been interested in this kind of stuff

Like the arguments for Babar and how it was attempting to justify French colonialism. And the same with TinTin. Or Mario and The Smurfs (good name for band, that) being basically Marxist

Does anybody know of anything else like this, no matter how poor the argument for it is? I'm thinking something must've been going on with those Moomin bastards

*a nice word to type
