I love christmas, but one that involves cinnamon, ginger, radio 4, real christmas trees, freezing cold mornings, proper fires, no telly, loads of mates, almonds, pressies, christmas dinner at DINNER time and not finished by 1.45pm, chocolate chocolate, music, music, sleeping and other things probably.

Is this archaic? is Chrimbo just about a proper Mitchell Chrismas with all the trimmings and a triple murder in Albert Square or is it just being with the people you love silently praying there's no massive rows? Or is it taking your own life in a shabby hostel room as 'Noel's Christmas Party plays glibly from the black and white in the corner, or does it come down to working at the office in silence with only your own stubborn heart beating (and quietly breaking) for cold comfort company as you simply cannot stand being round the people you 'claim' to love? Or are you just Jewish?

I used to work over christmas in a crappy hotel so I'd have spending money back at colllege and university and I wanted an excuse not to be anywhere near my crap so called family. I'd never want to do that again and as time goes on all of a sudden the 'meaning', whatever that is to whoever you are, suddenly makes sense don't you think?
