Okay,

So while I was in Australia, and without the means to check listings, I watched a lot of a movie that was subtitled. It appeared to be in French mainly but also in a Slavic language.

The main character stabs the man who he thinks is his father while his father is sleeping with his mother (a whore) and then runs away and ends up in (well maybe France but I guess it could be Belgium or Switzerland somewhere) as part of an immigrant community. I assumed they were Polish but actually maybe they're Croatian?

When he's a boy he's called (I think) Tobias but afterwards he changes his name to Dalibor L___ (can't remember) and he's in love with a girl from his childhood days who I think was called 'Kali'? She ends up coming to where he is by chance and has a kid by her husband and works in the factory he works in and is also his half-sister.

Um. The director was someone whose first and last names began with S and it looked like an Italian name maybe.

Anyone know what it is? Sorry...
