Work Experiience?!?

KittyInPink [Edit] [Delete] 18:06, 15 November '06

I've been doing work experience for a couple of publishing companies for about a month.

I don't really see the point in having this weird set-up where I'm supposedly learning about the inner workings of the publishing world when in reality I am the office monkey who files, photo copies, posts things, and types stuff up.

It apparently looks great on your cv, and people are all 'Wow! A month of work experience, thats great! Have a job!' They must know the sorts of jobs I had to do as they probably started doing work experience themselves.

Why must this be the way of things? I am clever, I have good qualifications, and I'm a nice pleasent person to work with, why is this not enough for some people?

Have other people had to do loads of work experience too, and do you think there is a better way?
