A question about Irish people

stabby3 [Edit] [Delete] 13:06, 12 November '06

Right, I have an irish housemate. She's lovely, really nice girl. We haven't got a great deal in common but that's fine coz she's a super gal and will do anything for you.

However, every single friend or co-worker of hers that i've been introduced to are just plain weird! Just very strange and they appear to be quite dark, gothic and troubled. Not to say they don't sit around the table and have a laugh and joke, but it's always about something very odd indeed. Not in a politically incorrect way or anything, just strange things.

The point that these people I've met are all female and all irish.

I only know one Irish person, my housemate, so my question is...are Irish people as a rule of thumb a bit strange? Is it a culture thing?
