On Tour with Prole: This week - Hillingdon

prole-art-threat [Edit] [Delete] 17:30, 11 October '06

Cast your eyes over any regular tube map and you'll see to the far left hand corner one of the two final destinations on the the Betjeminly romantic Metropolitan Line. If you choose to look closer you will see on the lower left line the station marked 'Hillingdon'. Until last week I'd never heard or seen or even considered using this as a name for my future children, let alone imagined I would disembark from the tube onto the platform of said place and then venture forth into the pedestrianised suburby town centre that is 'Hillingdon'.

And my impressions as a central Londoncentric buffoon obsessed with petty ridiculous ideals? Its dull as dishwater townie fodder with a slight genteel sheen that depressed me rather.

NEXT WEEK: Borehamwood & Elstree. Bet you can't fucking wait.
