I pose this question after watching the Ryder Cup last night, and seeing Darren Clarke (rightly so) being the focus of much of the coverage when Europe won. Then seeing a couple of European players being interviewed and being asked specifically about Darren. Then another couple of players being asked about Darren, then seeing some American's being asked about Darren....

Now don't get me wrong. Darren played incredibly well under the circumstances, and I'm not in anyway criticising or mocking him but....

Were the BBC just filling their 'live emotion' quota? Was this reasonable and respectful coverage or was it expolitative voyeurism of a poor chap who's recently lost his wife?
