Is Ireland actually as welcoming as people claim?

JezCC [Edit] [Delete] 13:09, 24 September '06

I've never been to Ireland, so I wouldn't know, but the Irish pubs near my flat (proper irish pubs, not o'neills) are not very welcoming, in fact, they are some of the least welcoming pubs I have ever entered.

So... is it just the irish population of north London reacting against the harsh treatment they received for years or is it that Irish people aren't as wecoming as everyone says?

p.s. I may go on holiday to Ireland to find this out for myself one day
